Hebrews 11:6 (NASB) And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

I had a difficult time getting into The Chosen series due to the creators using a great deal of imagination in the back story of the characters. It is not all biblical. I tried to start it two or three times until I finally finished the first episode and realized just how powerful it was despite it not being word for word from the bible. I am now on my second go around through the series, and I just watched the episode where Jesus heals the woman with the issue of blood. In this episode, during their exchange, Jesus says, “You have blessed me today.” That one line is not in the passage that describes this encounter in the bible, however, it is biblical when we look at the passage in Hebrews. That scripture tells us that our faith pleases Him. Now I’m asking myself, “Have I blessed God lately?”

I have a prayer list I pray over most days. I’ve typed it out and included scripture that speaks specifically to that request. Unfortunately, most days I just read it. I don’t usually approach it with the same desperation and simple faith that this woman had when she reached for Jesus’ hem. This woman had so much faith in Jesus that she believed that she only had to touch the hem of his garment. I want that kind of faith. I want my prayer to Him to be, “Just one touch, Lord, is all I need.”

I recently had someone ask me, “What if I don’t have enough faith?” I told her to ask God to give her the faith she needed. As the father of the possessed boy told Jesus, “I do believe; help my unbelief.” (Mark 9:24). We all have times of faltering faith. Whether it is a doubt that God can or a doubt that He wants to do what we ask. During those times, we simply have to ask God to help our unbelief.

This amazing adventure with God sometimes has me sitting in awe of how truly blessed I am to be His child. I have the privilege to approach the throne of the God of the universe with my requests and with an ounce of faith I believe He will answer them. Not only do I get the benefit of being blessed with an answered prayer by having faith, but the added bonus is that I please God! Ever since God plucked me out of my darkness and deposited me into His loving light, I’ve wanted to do everything I can to please Him. I’ve tried just about everything. Unfortunately, I usually skip right past this little nugget of truth. This little thing that I can do in my daily life that brings a blessing to His heart. My faith in Him and what He can do for me.

Watching this one episode has me shifting my biggest desire of hearing Him one day say, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” because that may or may not happen until I reach glory. I believe now in my daily walk, I want to hear him say, “Your faith has blessed me today.” I want to be a blessing to my Lord and Savior. How about you?
